Texas in the Fall

A Scattering of Amber Leaves

These leaves, their vivid luminous
stars falling across the Piney Woods,
are like shimmering blankets of cut gems.

They create drifts of little stars,
a world of gold and umber,
floating above the mossy green forest,
a universe of exquisite luster.

beautiful poetry with the essence of light...like a camera lens...but a camera with soul...and remember the Doug Sahm song: if you want to live in Texas, you gotta have a lot of soul...
